A few things that won't change, tier or no tier

Your data is always yours
Exporting a full backup and permanently deleting your account data are both free, unrestricted, self-serve features today — that's not changing for a paid tier, and it's not getting held hostage if you downgrade.
Downgrading never deletes anything
If Pro ever launches and you don't renew, your pools/picks/history stay exactly where they are — you'd just be back to Free's limits going forward, not locked out of what you already built.
Free stays a real product
Free isn't a crippled demo — it's a genuine 5-input ensemble (BP + Comp + 3 systems) against real lines in a real pool. The point of the free tier is that it's actually good enough to use every week.
No ads, ever, on any tier
PickGauge doesn't run ads and never will, for anyone — free or paid. Pro is the only monetization path being considered.

Questions

Is any of this final?

No. Every limit on this page (1 pool, 3 systems, which Results metrics are gated) is a working draft, not a locked decision. The actual boundaries will likely be set after watching how people use PickGauge for real during the season, not guessed at in advance.

Why gate the ★ Top 10 systems specifically, instead of just any 3?

The idea is to keep Free as an honest, real ensemble rather than a stripped-down demo — 3 systems still meaningfully dampens any single system's noise. Reserving the backtested best performers for Pro is meant to be a clear, data-backed reason to upgrade, not an arbitrary paywall.

When is this actually launching?

No date. There's no billing integration built yet, and pricing itself isn't decided — this page exists to think out loud, not to announce a launch.

Will I be charged for anything right now?

No. There is currently no way to pay PickGauge for anything. Everything in the app is free to use today.
